Goldfinch Hotel Mangalore

Nothing really. The location suited my needs.

Very bad. The room was very dirty. The sofa in the room was stinking dirty. I got a smoking room and was unable to change room. The gym is a joke. They have a broken treadmill in a dingy room. I changed after 2 days to a much nicer place for much less.

Staff is quit helpful.

Very poor maintenance. We had booked an Executive Suite with a balcony, but couldn’t sit there for even five minutes due to the unpleasant odor in the balcony area. Ongoing renovation work caused loud noise throughout the stay, making the experience quite uncomfortable.

In central city locations

I checked in next day morning - after 17 hours after my checking time of 3PM. When asked for a late checkout of 3 hours, they are insisting on half day rent. This attitude is ruthless.

Nice location and comfort

I had added breakfast to my package but when I reached there they said breakfast is not included which was disappointing. I never book without breakfast and ended up paying more. They said it is a problem of booking.comThey also wanted to charge me as soon as I reached and kept insisting I pay on the first day. Later I realised it was because GST was decreasing the next day and they wanted to overcharge me.

The lift is very slow and takes so much time to come. The outside of the property has some maintenance and painting. From the pictures the room looks amazing but in reality its not The flooring of the room is damaged and also the tv is not a smart tv, the rooms needs an upgrade.

Central location and easy access to all major spots in city

Just two lifts for such big property with multiple event attendees also using residents lift, resulting in undue delay in getting an accessible lift

Excellent location right in the heart of Hampankatta, Mangalore and well-known by auto and taxi drivers. It was easy to get to other areas of Mangalore. Our room was on the sixth floor and had an excellent view of the city. The room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was exceptional. There is a wide variety of dishes and drinks for breakfast. Eggs and dosas are made to your liking and cooked fresh on the spot. The dinner is just as delicious. We highly recommend the Mangalorean roce curry. And you must try the Mangalorean coffee - it’s like velvet. The laundry service was exceptional. We were shocked when our t-shirts came back clean and nicely pressed and packaged as if they were brand new! The attention to details such as this is an example of the high standard of service at every level. The service throughout the hotel was exceptional. The staff are delightful and will go out of their way to attend to your needs. They are thoughtful, professional, efficient and always greet you with a smile. The chef even comes out to speak to guests to ensure they are satisfied! We had such a pleasant stay and were sad to leave. Thank you to all the staff at Goldfinch Hotel for your generous hospitality and kindness.

The snacks which are kept in the room shdnt be chargeable

Without even asking the permission they have opened the room and cleaned when we were outside which at times not good

The rooms were clean and the staff was good. The Chinese restaurant was great.

Very helpful and friendly staff, clean room, great food and location

Not a big issue, but it can get noisily easily, for example if people speak in the hallway at night or a phone rings somewhere on the same floor.

It has nice roof top location with some good south indian spread.

the front desk hospitality was very poor, and they did not seem to care to address the issue. I felt them to be rude and did not have a smile on their face, which is not welcoming.

The inhouse transport rate was expensive and must be moderated for nearby destination as central railway station, where the charge was 550 rupees for just 2kms.

Stale food at some counters specifically non-veg .basic South Indian was ok. Dinner served does not give value for money. Property is poorly maintained.

The building looks a little run down by now. Requires some re vamping

Our nearly 2 week stay at Goldfinch was excellent. We have been coming to this hotel since 2012, whenever we visit Mangalur from the US. The staff are excellent and once they know our routine, they rememberedit and they followed it very well to keep us comfortable.

At the entrance of the hotel, there should be a railing to assist elderly guests to climb the stairs. This is something that should be looked at immediately.

Staff was good

Amenities in the room are outdated (shower holders had insecure fittings)It was inconvenient to have only one room key card when you are staying with family. Whenever an extra key card was provided, the other card was deactivated.Check-in was too long, almost took 30+ mins.Overall, it was not worth the money we paid.

We had a very pleasant stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They obliged with our request for extra bed and towels, water etc.

Location

We were 3 of us and kept awake due to late night closing of restaurant. The staff kept dragging things on the floor above. We called at 12 10 am n the same thing started again at 6 45 am. The least they can do is allow guests to sleep without any noise. Not happyFor a 3 occupancy would expect a bigger room. We got the same room but an extra foldable bed.
